MAAF sums up its approach to the challenges ahead in its motto “the customer’s choice”. Mutualist and pragmatic by nature, its customers are central to its strategy.

La Mutuelle Assurance Automobile Artisanale de France – the MAAAF – was created in Niort in 1950, with the aim of offering craftsmen the opportunity to insure each other’s business vehicles, in a spirit of solidarity and economy.
MAAF developed very quickly, diversifying its offers, abandoning the A for “Automobile”, which had become too restrictive, and adopting the name it still retains today. 70 years later, its original values and spirit remain relevant.
Guided by a mutualist spirit combined with common sense, MAAF remains the historical insurer of the artisan world, although it now offers services to all sections of the public, in all areas of insurance: property, professional risks, savings and life insurance, health and pensions, credit, assistance.
