November 2009 - GMF launches the VIE PRO policy, a professional insurance product for public sector employees GMF, France’s leading provider of insurance for public sector employees as private individuals, launches VIE PRO, its new insurance policy designed to accompany them by extending protection to the risks they encounter in their professional lives. A teacher blamed following a pupil’s playground fall or an accident during a school outing, a highway maintenance official seriously injured in the course of his duties, a railway conductor violently assaulted while checking tickets, fire-fighters pelted with stones by those they were coming to save, etc. Because people who work to serve the public, whether they be teachers, local authority employees, firemen, administrative personnel, railway staff, or national grid, mass transit or post office employees, are finding themselves increasingly exposed to risks in carrying out their public service duties, GMF has devised VIE PRO. With a VIE PRO policy, you no longer have to face the risks of the job on you own. · VIE PRO has been designed to respond to public sector employees’ needs for cover. It optimises their personal protection, without replacing the statutory protection which they are entitled to receive from central or local government or the public body employing them. · It brings together the types of insurance cover that are essential for comprehensive professional protection against the real risks incurred in these jobs (assault, altercations, accidents, accusations, etc.) and their impact on public sector employees’ professional and personal lives: legal information by telephone, professional legal defence, assault cover, assistance at home or in the workplace, psychological assistance, personal civil liability (CL), professional accident and sickness cover and help with occupational retraining. · The policy is a simple one, with no excess (deductible), coming into effect immediately (no waiting period), at a very attractive premium rate of €25 per year including all taxes, available from 2 November in GMF offices, by telephone on 0-820-801-861 (€0.12 per minute including taxes, from a landline) or on the internet (www.gmf.fr).
